- 01The first step to get started is to schedule a free phone consultation. This gives us a chance to talk through what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and make sure we're a good fit before your first full session. From there, we'll schedule your intake appointment and begin working together.
- 02That makes a lot of sense if you do - this is a big step! That is what the phone consultation is for. Feel free to come to that call with any questions - about my approach, what sessions look like, logistics, or anything else on your mind. I want you to feel informed and comfortable before we begin working together. And if it turns out we're not the right fit, I'm happy to offer referrals.
- 03Finding the right therapist is a personal decision, and fit matters. During our phone consultation, you'll get a sense of my approach, communication style, and the way I hold space for clients. I encourage you to notice how it feels to talk with me. If something feels off or you'd be better served by a different specialty, I'll gladly point you toward other resources or referrals.
- 04Standard sessions typically run about 50 minutes. In the beginning, we usually meet more consistently (often once a week) so we can build a therapeutic relationship and address your symptoms. As you start to feel more grounded and secure, we will shift into the "maintenance phase", meeting less frequently to support you as you continue applying what you've learned.
- 05I offer both in-person and virtual (online) counseling, so you can choose whatever format works best for your schedule and comfort level. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face at my North Dallas office or connecting virtually from home, we can tailor sessions to fit what feels right for you.
- 06I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas, with a focus on trauma and EMDR therapy. I've been practicing EMDR since 2019 currently help train other clinicians through EMDR Basic Trainings. I've dedicated years of training and experience to this field, and it would be an honor to hold this space for you.
- 07During our first session, I will ask you questions to get a full picture of what brings you in. Towards the end of this first session, we will collaborate on a personalized plan to meet the goals you have for therapy.
- 08During the following sessions, I often provide resources, coping skills, handouts, and analogies to help you get the most out of your time. Typically, we meet more consistently in the beginning (i.e., once a week); and then, as you begin to feel more secure and anchored, we enter a maintenance phase and meet less frequently.
